The Florence RedWolves defeated the Lexington County Blowfish 7-4 on Saturday night at Lexington County Baseball Stadium.
After a two hour delay due to weather, the RedWolves (4-4) struck first in the top of the second when Eldrige Figueroa (Arkansas Little Rock) doubled home Lex Tuten (North Grenville) and Jon Mitchell Carter (Coastal Carolina) to give the RedWolves the 2-0 lead.
The Blowfish (6-4) would respond with two of their own in the bottom of the second.
Florence would answer in the top of the third when Kenny Piper (Columbia College) singled home Joe Weisenseel (Ohio) to make it 3-2 RedWolves.
The game would stay at that score until the Blowfish scored two in the bottom of the sixth to take a 4-3 lead.
Florence would once again respond in the top of the seventh when Brandon McIlwain (Cal) singled home Piper before scoring on a Zach Durfee (Siena) single to give the RedWolves the 5-4 advantage.
The Florence offense would keep adding on late as Nathan Medrano (St. Edwards) singled home Tuten in the eight and then Durfee doubled home Piper in the ninth.
Robin Allen (Eckerd College) picked up the win in relief tossing 2.2 innings allowing no runs or hits while striking out three.
Connor Holden (Murray State) tossed a scoreless ninth to pick up the save.
The RedWolves will have Sunday off before returning home to take on Savannah on Monday.

The game will start with the RedWolves batting with a runner on first trailing 6-1 and will be played to a finish just like a regular nine-inning contest.
After the conclusion of game one there will be a 30-minute break before game two that will be a seven-inning contest.
Gates will open at 5 pm with game one picking back up at 6 pm.
