The Florence RedWolves defeated the Lexington County Blowfish 10-1 on Saturday night at Lexington County Baseball Stadium.
The RedWolves (8-11) started the night off quick with a run in the first inning when Michael Richardson (Ohio) reached on an error that allowed Reid Hardwick (Charleston Southern) to score and make it 1-0. Florence would increase the lead when Hardwick singled home Lex Tuten (North Greenville) in the second to make it 2-0.
The RedWolves scoring would continue in the fourth when Grey Epps (Southern Illinois) doubled home Tuten and Figueroa to make it 4-0.
Lexington County (5-12) would hit a solo home run to make it 4-1 Florence.
The RedWolves offense would answer in the fifth Tuten grounded out that allowed Zach Durfee (Siena) to score and make it 5-1.
Florence would be held scoreless until the top of the ninth when four straight batters were hit by a pitch to make it 6-1. Then Durfee hit a sac fly that allowed Epps to score to make it 7-1. Then Joe Weisenseel (Ohio) was hit by a pitch to drive in JT Weber (Southern Illinois) and make it 8-1. Then Richardson and Miguel Soto (Arkansas Little Rock) would score on wild pitches to make it 10-1 RedWolves.
Boyce Kobleur (Florence Darlington Tech) picked up the win in his start for the RedWolves tossing 7 strong innings allowing one run on four hits and six strikeouts.
The RedWolves defensively committed no errors and walked no batters in the win.
The RedWolves will have Sunday off before returning home on Monday to take on the Lexington County Blowfish.
Monday will be faith and family night with gates opening at 6 pm and first pitch at 7 pm.
