Duke struck out a Holly Springs batter looking to close the second inning and wouldn't allow a base runner until the sixth inning, retiring 10-consective Salamanders.
Second-year head coach Jesse Lancaster turned to pitcher Kenny Wells (Seton Hill) to shut the door in the final two innings. The sophomore faced seven batters in the two innings, striking out one and allowing one lone hit. Wells notched his league-best eighth save of the summer.
