The Florence RedWolves fell 10-6 to the Lexington County Blowfish on Thursday night at Lexington County Stadium.
But the Blowfish would quickly recover and took the lead in the bottom of the second off of a two-run home run.
The Blowfish offense would not stop there as they would go on to plate a run in the fourth and five runs in the fifth to take a commanding 8-1 lead.
But Florence would answer in the top of the sixth scoring five times highlighted by Will Morgan's (Old Dominion) two-run home run, and capped by Patrick Causa (Mount Saint Mary's) double that brought home Chris Botsoe (Eastern Kentucky) and Dubet to cut the lead to 8-6.
That is all the closer the RedWolves would get however as the Blowfish would tack on two more in the eighth to win 10-6.
Amos Willingham (Georgia Tech) would take the loss for the RedWolves after tossing three innings allowing three runs while striking out one.
The RedWolves (9-8) will now return home on Friday to take on the Savannah Bananas.
Friday's home game will be the Pepsi game of the week as well as Alzheimer's Awareness night. The RedWolves will be wearing specialty purple jerseys that will be auctioned off with all proceeds going to find a cure for Alzheimer's.
Gates open at 6 pm and first pitch is scheduled for 7 pm.
