MACON- The Macon Bacon's losing streak of four games comes to an end after a 3-2 victory over divisional foes, the Florence RedWolves. The first run of the game was scored in the bottom of the first inning when Riley King doubled to bring in Brandon Michie who walked earlier in the inning.
Jordan Dudderly started off the game pitching three shutout innings for the Bacon. In the fourth, Dudderly began to tire. He gave up two runs after a great piece of hitting by Griffin Hulecki and Joe Simone who both had doubles.
Florence lost their 1-run lead in the bottom of the sixth when the Bacon's bats began to heat up. Two perfectly executed bunts by Cal Gentry and Tanner Wetrich were the catalyst to a great sixth inning for the Bacon. It was capped off by a hard-hit double off the bat which scored Cal Gentry. The Bacon would end the inning with a 3-2 lead.
Stellar pitching by John Michael Bertrand and Logan Winder secured the win and ended the losing streak for the boys from Macon. The Bacon improve their overall record to 3-4 on the season.
