Josh Hood - Asheboro (Fr. UPenn) Week Nine (July 28 - August 3) - Hood, a rising sophomore at UPenn, capped off a strong summer for the Copperheads batting .423 across six games and 26 at-bats in the final week of the season. The utility player notched 11 total hits, including five doubles and three home runs for seven RBIs and a .962 slugging percentage. Hood also drew three walks to push his on-base percentage to .483, helping him score 10 runs on the week. 
Blake Beers - Edenton (So. Michigan) Week Nine (July 28 - August 3) - Beers was dominant for the Steamers on July 29 earning the win versus the Holly Springs Salamanders. After allowing a couple of walks in the first, Beers settled in to go six 1/3 innings while allowing only one hit, one more walk and striking out nine on the game for a 0.63 WHIP and 12.79 K/9. The Michigan sophomore arrived late after the Wolverines made a run to the National Championship, but finished the season with a 4.58 ERA and 27 strikeouts across 25 1/3 innings pitched for the Steamers.
