Over half of his hits were home runs, which he had four to go with a double, seven runs and eight RBIs. He also drew a walk, stole a base, and had an on-base percentage of .471.

Slack appeared twice in relief for the Pilots, and while he didn’t secure a decision, he did finish with a perfect 0.00 ERA. A graduate student at Murray State, the right-hander pitched a complete five innings of scoreless, hitless baseball, surrendering just one walk, while striking out eight. His 0.20 WHIP was tops in the league, and he also had a K/9 of 14.40.
