RedWolves Release 2017 First Responders Specialty Jersey

Updated February 17 2017
FLORENCE, S.C.-

The Florence RedWolves are excited to release their first specialty jersey of the season.  With a lot of cultivated thought, time and effort, the RedWolves organization has come up with the first of five specialty jerseys for the 2017 season.

The first specialty jersey will be worn for the second home game of the season on Saturday, June 3rd, as the RedWolves take on the Martinsville Mustangs for First Responders Night. For this particular game, the RedWolves are highlighting and showing their vast appreciation for all of Florence’s and surrounding area’s first responders. This wouldn’t be possible without the help of ALCO-LITE.

“The ALCO-LITE name is synonymous with quality, dependability, and service. For these reasons, ALCO-LITE fire ladders are used by all types of departments – paid and volunteer, large and small, throughout the United States and the worlds.  These departments have found, over the years, that ALCO-LITE is a name upon which you can stand.”

“As a community, we wouldn’t be able to function effectively, or live safely if it wasn’t for our First Responders,” General Manager Barbara Osborne said. “There isn’t enough appreciation shown to these individuals who put their lives before ours. This night is dedicated to all of them.”

The backstory into the design of the jersey-

Looking at the front of the jersey it is visibly appealing to the eye. The most notable piece of the work is the silhouettes- one of a fireman and the other a policeman.  Behind them is a wall of fire, really capturing the silhouettes in the frame.

On each of the sleeves the emblem of a police badge and fire department are displayed, paying homage to the many first responders who risk their lives everyday. These badges are portrayed on a blacked out sleeve, really outlining the emblems.

Moving to the backside of the uniform, you will notice the bright royal blue insignia of the Emergency Medical Services. These individuals do so much for the community and we truly want them to be shown appreciation for everything they do. Added with this logo, the American flag and the player’s jersey number, is a quote that is incredibly moving.

“Bravery is running in when everyone else is running out”

Every first responder goes above and beyond the call of duty and on Saturday, June 3rd, they will be shown immense appreciation for it.

Osborne stated, “We can’t emphasize enough the amount of hard work and dedication our first responders put out for us. They need to be appreciated everyday.”

Whenever the Martinsville Mustangs come galloping into Florence, the RedWolves will suit up in the First Responders Night jerseys. During the game, fans will have the ability to bid on all of the jerseys worn by the players and coaches, with bid winners being announced after the game.  The person who indeed bids the highest for the jersey of their choice, will be greeted with their respective player or coach for a meet and greet, and photo opportunity on the field.

All of the proceeds from the jersey auction will be going towards a local first responders fund.
