RedWolves lead wire to wire, hand Blowfish third straight loss

Updated June 18 2017

The Blowfish welcomed on in the Florence RedWolves to the Fish Tank on Father’s Day for their first and only Sunday evening game of the 2017 season.

The Blowfish were trying to avoid a three game losing streak but the one loss Wolves had other plans as they knocked off Lexington County by a final of 8-3.

Florence led from wire to wire in the ballgame as they struck first in the first inning on SAC fly from Zach Jacobs (Francis Marion University) that gave them a 1-0 lead.

The RedWolves added three in the fourth on a Riley King (Georgia) RBI single and then a Brandon Chapman (George Washington) two run single that plated Matt Beaird (Coastal) and King.

Florence then exploded for three more in the seventh and added a run in the eight inning to score 8 unanswered.

The Blowfish were able to load the bases in the ninth and score three runs but couldn’t add anything more and fell for the third straight ballgame this time at home to Florence 8-3.

Tomorrow night the Fish look for revenge against the RedWolves in a double-dip against Florence at Sparrow Stadium. First pitch in game one against the Wolves is set for 6:00 pm and coverage on z93.1 FM The Lake will begin at 5:45 pm from Florence.

The RedWolves and Blowfish will tangle up for two seven inning games tomorrow night in Florence.
