“I will always cherish my time in Morehead City and am grateful for the impact the Bengel family and the Marlins had on my career,” Roth said in regards to her time with the Marlins. “I cannot thank Carteret County enough, particularly the Marlins host families, for accepting me into their community with open arms. The support of our host families, Brad Campen with MHC Parks & Recreation and the Marlins fans throughout the years is something I will never forget.”
As Director of Operations and Sponsorships Roth with help the league continue its growth as the best summer collegiate baseball league in the country through cultivating relationships with business partners and working directly with other staff members on league-wide initiatives.
“We are happy to have Catherine join our staff in the league office,” said CPL COO/Commissioner Justin Sellers. “Cat is no stranger to our league having served in two of our franchises. She brings welcomed experience and insight to our office. We look forward to having her aid our staff in working with our member franchises to help us grow and reach our goals.”
Roth obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Virginia Tech in 2014. During her time in college she served as the Recruiting and Events Intern for the Hokies baseball team, while also interning for the CPL’s Peninsula Pilots (2011-2012 seasons) and the Morehead City Marlins (2013 season) over her summer breaks.
“I have been fortunate to have worked in the Coastal Plain League for the last six years,” said Roth. “During this time I witnessed first hand the integrity and the standards to which our league is held, as the nation’s best were on display each season. It is truly a blessing to have the opportunity to be a contributing agent in what I am certain is a thriving future for the Coastal Plain League.”
