FOREST CITY, N.C. - The Forest City Owls have unveiled their uniforms for their inaugural season. The Owls uniforms include a home, away, and alternate jersey as well as a home, road, and alternate hat.

The home uniform is white with dark green pinstripes with "Owls" across the chest in dark green outlined in gold. The jersey features dark green numbers outlined in gold on the front and on the back. Underneath the arms is a section of dark green decoration. At home the team will wear white pants with dark green pinstripes. The home hat is dark green and features an owl perched on a baseball bat.

The Owls road uniforms are the traditional baseball gray featuring dark green pinstripes with "Forest City" in dark green outlined in gold embroidered across the chest. Dark green numbers outlined in gold appear on the front and on the back of the shirt. The jersey also has a section of dark green underneath each arm. On the road the team will wear gray pants with dark green pinstripes. The away cap is dark green with a white "FC" logo outlined in dark green and gold.

An alternate green jersey features the word "Owls" in gold outlined in white. Gold numbers outlined in white are on the front and the back of the uniform. An area of gold decoration is underneath each arm. The green jersey can be worn by the Owls both at home with the white pants or on the road with gray pants. When at home, the uniform will feature a white hat with a dark green brim, a dark green button and eyelets, dark green piping on the seams, and a dark green "FC" logo outlined in gold and dark green. The Owls will wear the green jersey with white pants and the white hat for all six Saturday home games in 2008.

The Owls will wear a dark green belt and dark green socks with each uniform. The Owls helmets are dark green with the road hat logo of a white "FC" outlined in dark green and gold.

"We are very proud of the uniform design we have chosen," said Owls general manager James Wolfe. "We think the team will look great in them on the field, and we are proud to feature Forest City on our road jerseys. I think the Owls script strongly resembles the uniforms worn by the original Forest City Owls. Our road and alternate hats were also inspired by the Owls uniforms of the past. We used a design featuring the letters F C because the Rutherford County Owls wore R C on their hats."

The Forest City Owls are a member of the Coastal Plain League. Entering its twelfth season, the Coastal Plain League features 14 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats.
