FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The SwampDogs announced today that Jeff Ibarra, a pitcher at Lee University, has signed to return to Fayetteville for the 2008 season.

"Jeff was a big part of our success over the past two summers and I'm excited to have him return for a third year," said manager Darrell Handelsman. "He provides us with a quality, experienced lefthanded arm out of the bullpen. His CPL experience will be much needed as we make our run at the 2008 Petitt Cup."

Ibarra, a lefthanded relief pitcher, stands a towering 6-foot-6 and weighs 180 pounds. In 12 appearances at Lee this season, Ibarra is dominating with a 6-0 record and a 0.83 ERA. In 21 2/3 innings pitched, he has only given up 11 hits and has recorded 23 strikeouts. Currently, Lee University is ranked number two in the NAIA national poll with a record of 34-1.
