Former Peninsula Pilots outfielder John Bowker made his Major League debut on Saturday, April 12, 2008 with the San Francisco Giants. He singled off of St. Louis Cardinals starter, and fellow Coastal Plain League alum, Todd Wellemeyer ('99 Thomasville HiToms), and went on to finish the day 2-for-3 with a single, a homer and 3 RBIs.
